What does living with purpose look like for you?
Living a purposeful life. What does it look like?
The details are for each person to decide.
But perhaps the word “decide” is common for everyone.
Making conscious choices about where and how we spend our precious time and attention might be the key to living a purposeful life.
I’m reflecting on the month of April this morning.
Sure, I’d tweak a few moments. But overall, I’m so satisfied and joyful of the life I am living.
They say it’s not bragging if it’s true. So here is my summary snippet into how I’m living my designed, purposeful life:
- Sent a proposal for leadership coaching and team development to a possible new and exciting company. Totally synced with my occupational purpose to support my clients in achieving their vision of success.
- Took my 18 month old granddaughter to the park.
- Made new investments in the continual updating of my website and marketing outreach. I know my offer is a great value to people who want “better”. But if nobody knows about it…
- Traveled to Hill Country, Texas for a couple nights living on a hill top. Rode my bike up hills that are clearly steeper than t he last time I was here! Those who know my cycling and health history know this was either admirably courageous or foolhardy….
- Spent a great evening with my son at a ZZ Top/Willie Nelson concert. You’ll have to go to FB to see pics of us in cheap sunglasses.
- Said “no” to several standing meetings/opportunities and said “yes” to more interactions that feed my soul and purpose.
- Feasted on one of the very few “healthy options” with my wife at the local icehouse.
- Filled more garbage cans with trimmings and weeds from the garden. The best way to get off my butt and clean up the house is to invite extended family over for a crawfish boil!
- Spent a lovely hour with the founder of Thinking Partners, Bruce Anderson, on his patio.
- Advocated for my mom and searched for her missing hearing aid at her assisted living facility.
- Started a new coach training program, Positive Intelligence. I have high hopes because this methodology “operationalizes” so many concepts I know to be effective. Call me if you want to know more!
- Watched the last three innings of the Sunday night Astros game. I could have made a better use of that time!
Thanks for giving your precious time to read my reflection.
As I look forward to the next 3 months planned “DOING”, I’m a bit overwhelmed.
However, I know if I focus on how I am “BEING” then I will reflect back with the same satisfaction and joy I feel now.
